Mount Diablo is located within Mount Diablo State Park and part of the mountain of the Diablo Range, in Contra Costa County of the eastern San Francisco Bay Area in Northern California. The mountain is visible from most of the San Francisco Bay Area and a popular XC site in the bat area many local XC records have been broken from this flying site. The site has a variety of potential flying experiences for the more advanced pilot with good judgment and skill.
The National Weather Service maintains a weather station at Mount Diablo Junction, 2,170 feet (661 m) above sea level.
